Mime Forlag was established in 2014 by Kristian Bjørkdahl, Thorunn Endreson, Jon Anstein Olsen and Karen Lykke Syse. We found our name through Norse mythology, where Mime was the god who guarded the well of wisdom.

Mime publishes mainly translated titles in popular science and other serious non-fiction, a genre long neglected by Norwegian publishers. We are convinced that there are many Norwegians out there who are eager to read the very best of the many excellent books published in these categories in other languages.

One of our many strict criteria for selecting books is that they must be both riveting and rigorous. A Mime book will always enlighten and never bore the reader. Indeed, our non-fiction books—most of them award-winning international bestsellers—are as impossible to put down as good fiction can be.
